DSA moderation rules
Moderation and Content Reporting Rules
1. Types of reports
The Report content feature allows submitting:
- a report of a GameBases rules violation,
- a notice of allegedly illegal content under the DSA.
These types are recorded separately in the interface and administration.
2. Notice of illegal content
The form allows stating:
- a precise explanation why the content is alleged to be illegal,
- the exact URL or other unique identification of the content,
- the reporter's name and e-mail, except a statutory exception for notices concerning child sexual abuse,
- a good-faith declaration that the information is accurate and complete.
After receipt we send a confirmation and case number.
3. Rules-violation report
For a rules violation the user selects a category and provides a description. Categories include in particular harassment, bullying, hate, violence, sexual content, child endangerment, spam, fraud, impersonation, privacy infringement, copyright and another category with a mandatory explanation.
4. Assessment
An administrator assesses reports promptly, objectively, proportionately and without arbitrariness. They consider the exact content, context, severity, author's rights and urgency.
Reports involving threat to life, safety or a minor have priority. If there is reasonable suspicion of a crime endangering life or safety, we follow statutory reporting duties.
5. Decision
Possible measures include in particular leaving content, warning, restricting visibility, removal, restricting a feature, temporary ban or permanent ban.
We inform the reporter of the decision and available remedies. We provide the author of the affected content with a clear statement of reasons, contractual or legal basis and appeal option unless law or safety prevents it.
Each decision states the concrete end date of the appeal period. The appeal period is at least six months from notice of the decision.
We do not disclose the reporter's identity to the author unless required by law.
6. Appeal
An appeal may be filed via Workroom → My reports or from the decision notice. The appeal decision is taken by an administrator; where possible, someone other than the one who took the original decision.
7. Minors — age-appropriate summary
For users aged 13–17, these rules apply in plain language in particular:
- Be respectful to others. Harassment, threats and hate are forbidden.
- Do not publish your address, phone, school or precise location. Do not publish another minor’s precise contact details or location either.
- Do not move chats to private channels with strangers who ask you to.
- Do not send or ask for intimate photos or videos.
- If something looks dangerous or inappropriate, use Report content or write to admin@gamebases.gg.
For minors we use safe default privacy settings and do not provide profiled advertising.
It is forbidden to publish a minor’s precise contact details or precise location.
8. Abuse of reports
Repeated knowingly false or abusive reports may lead to a proportionate restriction of the feature after a warning and opportunity to comment. Mere rejection of a report does not mean abuse.
